Unlock Natures Performance with Ebion Spring Heather Honey (Athletes Honey)

Spring Heather, a vital plant in apiculture, aids post-winter bee population growth. Found in the natural expanse of Pindos-Epirus mountains, away from cultivation, this bush thrives at heights of up to 4 meters. Bees gather its nectar, crafting a highly nutritious flower honey renowned for its exquisite taste and distinctive aroma, often hailed as the 'athlete's honey'. Harvested between April and May, this honey, rich in vitamins and esteemed for its pollen's nutritional value, naturally crystallizes soon after collection. Our Spring Heather’s used in part as a flower honey in an organic balsamic vinegar -Wisdom of Nature- won a great taste Award in 2014, with honorable mentions for the Honey included.

We Love Our Bees

Keeping The Tradition of Nomadic Beekeeping

by moving the hives and attracting pollen from the wild bees in Greece. Beginning with Hippocrates, the father of medicine that espoused the benefits of honey, Greeks have revered the therapeutic properties of bee pollen and honey.

Our apiary is a 3rd generation apiary that follows very strict procedures that entails cleaning and storing our products in their raw state. These mountainous Greek bees have access to more flowers, herbs and ancient trees than the bees of any other region in the world, making this amongst the most robust bee pollen and honeys in the world.

1 jar is not enough!

I'm glad I got 3! The taste and texture of this honey is fantastic. Layered, floral sweetness with a hint of pollen and honeycomb. Thick and spoonable yet super smooth. It's great by itself, as a sweetener for fresh whipped cream and drizzled over peanut butter, yogurt, cottage cheese, fruit, etc.

Unique, Unusual, Delicious

Spring Heather Honey I think is my favorite of all the varieties. It has such an unique taste. I can't even describe it. It is different, a distinct flavor, an extra ordinary delicious taste, and an absolute joy to my taste buds with each spoonful. A person really has to try it to experience it. I just love it.
